The Pediatric Rehabilitation Program is specifically designed for children with physical, communication, and learning challenges. The program is designed to help improve functional skills to age-appropriate levels. The program treats children with diagnoses that include but are not limited to:   Orthopedic/neurological dysfunctions   Cerebral palsy Spinal bifida Muscular dystrophy Encephalopathy Acquired brain injuries Arthritis Developmental dysfunctions Prematurity Gross motor delays Fine motor delays Sensory integration disorders Autism Speech-language-communications disorders   The Pediatric Rehabilitation Program is designed to maximize the functioning of children, while operating within the limits of their support network. CORA's program is family-centered, and involves identifying and utilizing the best possible combination of treatment plans and methods, evaluations and assessments, and parental/ family education and participation.   By integrating these elements into a single cohesive program, the specialized services offered can yield rehabilitation outcomes that materially improve the quality of life for a child and his/her parents.   GOALS & EXPECTED OUTCOMES The interdisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals works closely with physicians, parents, patients, schools and other community agencies to achieve agreed to rehabilitation objectives involving functional or developmental criteria.   By using this approach, we help families set reasonable goals, achieve expected progress within a given timeframe, understand and manage variances during the rehabilitation process, and establish criteria for the patient's discharge from the program.   ADMISSION PROCESS Admission to the Pediatric Rehabilitation Program requires a physician referral.
